Manipura Five

Laugh

At yourself

We are all ridiculous.

Isn’t it time to relax?

Stop wanting it so badly,

It’s too late for that.

You forget your privilege.

Everyone has to

Shoulder a burden.

Yours ain’t so bad.

Bang Bang

The Messenger

This is number five in a series of poems reflecting on the manipura chakra.

Entered for One Shot Wednesday at the One Stop Poetry site.

Transaction

Not consumption:

Shoes and handbags and bling

Are last decade’s thing

Not redemption:

The problem with being Catholic

Is that I don’t believe in sin

But connection

With people, events and places

Especially certain faces

But transaction

Of laughter, love and joy

With the universe and my boy-

Those, I can do.

Manipura Three

I am fishing fire from the past,

Energy held like amber in deposits

Through the rings of grown years.

In secrecy, I collect it from the shores

Of regret.

It is returned home to my solar plexus,

Burning my ego,

New intentions

Manifest.

Manipura Two

Autonomy is the dialectic to cooperation

And partnership

Everybody needs somebody

I heard it called the twin flame

A fire that burns on water
